Finally...back to work!

Hello everyone! I finally made the leap and purchased a business laptop! Long overdue but there were other things much higher on my list of business needs. Now that I am all caught up, it means that I will be all caught up on the mountains and mountains of edits I have waiting for me. May has been so incredibly busy and full of new experiences as a photographer and a business owner! I am so blessed and it has truly been THE BEST month of my career hands down! I can't wait to share all of these beautiful photos with you! Lightroom is installing as we "speak" and I see a lot of long days in my future! lol

That's a wrap!

Home from wedding #2! It was so beautiful and full of the personality of the couple! I have known Ashley and Timothy since our middle school/high school days and wouldn't have expected anything less than the wedding they delivered! Lot's of laughs, great food and dancing the night (afternoon) away! Congrats you two! Have fun at Disney!

Looking forward...

Earlier this year I had a situation in my life that really changed everything. I'm sure most of my readers have had one of those, maybe even a few. 

You have an ideal of what your life is going to be and an event occurs that really rocks the boat. Maybe even just flat out tosses you out of the boat. If any of you are Grey's Anatomy fans you'll understand what I mean when I say...you go from being "bright and shiny" to "dark and twisty". I was most definitely dark and twisty.

It's hard when we are let down by people and situations that we are fully committed to and invest ourselves in.

I was let down in major ways this year and it shook me to the core. 

Thankfully I have an outstanding support system here in small town North Carolina. So, I want to take the time to thank those people in my life who had to deal with dark and twisty for awhile.

I'm preparing for wedding #2 this week and I am beyond the moon excited! My gear is all packed up and ready to go...including my brand new Canon Speedlite 430EX II! I'm thankful for all of the incredible opportunities God has brought my way this year! I feel that there are great things in store for this bright and shiny photographer! *smile*

This family contacted me and asked if I would be available to shoot a session with the WHOLE group! I have known some of the family for years and years so how could I turn this one down?! *smile*
We had to improvise a little bit by shooting indoors but I think they turned out great! What a photogenic family!

This family was so much fun to work with! They were troopers when Plan A fell through and we had to switch locations last minute (which as a photographer can be incredibly stressful). 
These photos truly capture that special bond they have with one another and I LOVE that about them! They had me laughing the whole time!


I worked with Julie (mom) for about 2 years and she was always so kind! Always in a good mood with a smile on her face! Thanks for sharing your sweet family with me! *smile*

One down, 2 to go!

I am so thrilled that my whirlwind month of weddings has finally arrived! I have been waiting patiently for May for what seems like a lifetime. I am still fairly new on the wedding scene but they are my absolute favorite to shoot! I love the semi chaos and never knowing what to expect next. The possibilities are endless and I thrive on that kind of work! My next wedding is set in an old train depot in uptown Charlotte on Saturday and I can't even explain my level of excitement! I've been stocking up on all sorts of fun new equipment (including a new flash!) and I am so ready to shoot this thing! lol

Month of weddings!

May is here and for this girl it means...Weddings! I'm starting off my whirlwind month this weekend for my best friends wedding to her very own Mr. Darcy! I'm pulling double duty on this one. Acting as both a bridesmaid and a second shooter for a very talented photographer friend of mine! Annie has planned a beautiful ceremony, the stunning North Carolina country serving as backdrop.
I can't wait to share a few shots with you!

Changes & Growth

Hello friends! This last month and a half has been nothing short of life changing. I have gone through a lot on a personal & professional level and am sooo happy to say that it has made me a much wiser & stronger person. Thank you all for being so supportive during this time!! I am genuinely looking forward to beginning this new chapter and enjoying every single minute of it! *smile*
